Serving God. Following Jesus. Loving People.

United Methodist Women

Mission Valley UMC has a very active United Methodist Women's Group(UMW) involved in helping many charitable organizations throughout the valley as well as many other needy groups around our state, the nation and the world. Our main concerns are issues surrounding women and children.  Here are just a few of the causes we have donated to recently:

Intermountain Children's Home, Florence Crittendon Home, Doves, Safe Harbor, Boys and Girls Club, Big Brothers & Sisters, Blackfeet Parish, MT Food Bank Network, Lake County Cancer, Skate Ignatius, American Red Cross, Helena Indian Alliance, Cheerful Hearts, Scholarships for Flathead UMC Camp.

We helped the Mission Team with the "Flood Bucket" Project.  This involved filling 5 gallon buckets with cleaning supplies.  The buckets are then sent to the UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) warehouse for distribution to areas hard hit by natural disasters.  This year's projects are baby layette supplies and school kits.
We recently sponsored a program by Safe Harbor regarding domestic violence.  We're movers and shakers and we'd like you to join us.  Women of all ages are invited and you don't have to be a church member to attend our meetings.

We also provide the Upper Room, Alive Now and Devo devotionals for the congregation on a monthly basis.

Our meetings are held on the 1st Sunday of the month at 11:45 a.m. (after friendship time) at the church through the month of May.   Our President this year is Marie Hendrickson of Charlo.

We welcome you to come and see what we are all about.

     To the woman
....a community of women whose purpose is to know God...to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

who finds meaning in her church and is drawn to its fellowship, whose life is packed full of activity and obligations, who struggles with loneliness or meaningless tasks, who is juggling jobs and family and trying to be faithful to both, who seems overburdened with the traditional woman's role of care giver, who feels she has gifts which are wasted or undeveloped, who needs a supportive community to affirm her own sense of purpose and commitment to God....
